iDNA PGx CNS Kit

Can be provided strictly by your doctor

iDNA PGx CNS

It offers Pharmacogenetic analysis for medications related to Central Nervous System (CNS) diseases.

The iDNA PGx CNS offers pharmacogenetic guidance to the physician for choosing the most appropriate personalized treatment: the most suitable drug at the right dose to avoid side effects and achieve optimal response.

A buccal swab sample is collected by the doctor or certified personnel and is then sent for processing to the specialized laboratory of iDNA Laboratories. The pharmacogenetic analysis shall be performed on medical indication.

The iDNA PGx CNS is an in vitro diagnostic (IVD) medical device bearing the CE mark

iDNA PGx CNS offers Pharmacogenetic Analysis and refers to patients:

  • With chronic conditions and polypharmacy
  • After initial diagnosis
  • Not responding to treatment
  • Non-compliant to treatment

iDNA PGx CNS Test includes all the main medications of the Central Nervous System (CNS) and is a useful tool for the doctor to determine the appropriate drug for their patient.

Results Report

The results of the Pharmacogenetic analysis will be sent to you and your doctor via e-mail or post within 15 business days from the day our laboratory receives your sample.

The report provides valuable information about drug-gene interactions, as 24 genetic polymorphisms are analysed.

This information derives from the analysis of the DNA sample and is then interpreted based on Pharmacogenetic science. In addition, it provides information on drug metabolism, efficacy, and/or safety depending on the patient's pharmacogenetic profile.

When establishing the line of therapy, determining the appropriate dosage and accounting for adverse effects remain challenges for the healthcare professionals, especially for the treatment of central nervous system disorders.

There is an increasing number of studies showing that drug response can be influenced by genetic factors that determine its metabolism, absorption, excretion, or action. Genetic polymorphisms account for inter-individual differences in response to the same drug type and dose by patients with the same disease.

Optimal choice of treatment

Simple and fast process

iDNA PGx CNS is painless, simple and fast!
To complete the procedure, a sample of oral (buccal) swab is required, which is collected in the clinic or by qualified personnel, using a special swab. Each DNA test does not need to be repeated, it is done once in a lifetime.
