Spiros Vittas
Chief Scientific Officer

Dr Vittas Spiros graduated from the School of Biology, University of Patras and completed his master’s degree (MSc) at the School of Biology, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, where he successfully defended his PhD thesis as a Fellow of the State Scholarship Foundation (IKY). He has worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Heidelberg, where he had a lecture as part of the pre-graduate study circle of the Medicine School. Since 2017, he gives a lecture as part of the post-graduate study circle of the School of Biology, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Additionally, since 2017 he has been certified by the EBMG as a European Registered Clinical Laboratory Geneticist (ErCLG). He has so far numerous publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals, and he has participated in a significant number of national and international conferences. He has served as Laboratory Director and Scientific Director in three different Private Genetics Diagnostic Laboratories in Greece. Since 2024, he serves as Chief Scientific Officer in iDNA Laboratories.

Eleni Ntoumou
Lab Manager

Eleni is a Molecular Biologist-Geneticist from the Democritus University of Thrace with an MSc in Molecular Biology-Genetics Applications and Diagnostic Biomarkers from the University of Thessaly, specializing in Pharmacogenetics and Epigenetic Regulation. She has fifteen years of laboratory experience in Greece and Great Britain, was a Visiting Researcher at University College London and the University of Oxford and is a member of the Federation of European Neuroscience Societies. At iDNA, she performs laboratory and genetic analyses, participates in new product development and is responsible for quality management.

Effie Salata, MSc
Medical Science Liaison

Effie is a Biologist from the University of Crete with an MSc in Reproductive and Developmental Medicine from the University of Sheffield. She has worked in IVF centers in Great Britain and was a Research Associate in primary healthcare, where she designed and developed genetic analyses and counseling services. She is a member of the Panhellenic Association of Bioscientists and the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology. At iDNA, she contributes to the activities of the scientific team, while also acting as a liaison between the company and healthcare professionals, providing scientific information and educating partners about genetic testing services.

Thanos Fotis, MSc
Data Scientist

Thanos holds a Physics degree from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, an MSc in Medical Physics from the University of Aberdeen, and an MSc in Bioinformatics from the University of Liverpool. He is an NHS Registered Clinical Scientist from the Nottingham University Hospitals, specializing in real-world data, machine learning and artificial intelligence in the healthcare industry. At iDNA, he develops, maintains, and ensures the quality of bioinformatics software with applications in prevention, pharmacogenetics, nutrigenetics, and athlegenetics.

Angie Kapellou
Nutrition & Genetics Specialist

Angie is a Dietitian-Nutritionist with ten years of clinical experience, working in the dietetic department in two of the largest Recovery and Rehabilitation Centers in Greece. She is a graduate of the Department of Human Nutrition of the University of Greenwich, and the Department of Dietetics of Queen Margaret University. She completed her MSc in Nutritional Genomics at St Mary's University Twickenham, where she conducted her PhD research on the associations between genes, caffeine and cognitive performance.
